Anybody out there on the hunt for an apartment this fall in NYC? I'm looking to move October 1st, and I'm in need of a roommie to split the hunt for a 2 bedroom in Manhattan, Long Island City, or Brooklyn (2 or 3 stops in max).

I'm 29 with a jobbie job, don't smoke, and am not into pets at all. I'm looking to spend around $1000 max. I have a broker friend that can get us a place, but there's just no "us" right now. At one point I had a friend to move in with but he has a dog which made it impossible to find a decent place.

Don't make me go to roommate.com.

I'm looking for someplace to live for at least 12 months or more. Not looking to sublet for a few months, I'd like a nice place to enjoy for a while. I have a lot of stuff and moving twice in a year would seriously suck.

I'm fond of:
in Manhattan:
South of 59th Street

Brooklyn:
Williamsburg
Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carrol Gardens
Basically a few stops in from Manhattan

Queens:
Long Island City
SOUTH Astoria

My girlfriend lives in Jersey City, and I work in SOHO, so you can imagine that getting too far from the PATH and Manhattan's lower West side are a major pain. Right now my commute is about 45 minutes from Greenpoint (where I'm currently suffering from a roommate with fucking cats I'm allergic to), and it would be nice to cut that down.

I know 2 brokers willing to do discounts on joints in the city!

Room

Hey, I have one bedroom available in Williamsburg Oct 1st for 600 a month plus utilities. It's near Graham Avenue stop on the L and is a good size room in a nice apartment with a big kitchen and living room. PM me if you're interested.
