DO YOU HAVE A GOOD STORY?

I'm working my MFA thesis at the Columbia writing school, and I'm putting together a collection of pieces on the kinds of jobs artists take on, either to survive, or as part of their craft. (For example, I'm doing pieces now on being a Broadway dancer and on the post 9/11 temporary work situation.)

I'm looking now for some more unlikely or interesting stories, especially ones that relate to the post 9/11 work shortage and how it affected artists in NYC. Any very weird, awful, or great jobs are of interest to me.

If you have a tale you'd like to tell, please leave me a private message or e-mail me at maureen@theliars.net. Also, please let me know how I can get back in touch for an interview.

(In case someone is nice enough to write and offer me an interview and I can't accept, it's only because I either have a similar piece written up already or it doesn't work with the themes of the piece. I will definitely let you know. )

Thanks!
