NYC karaoke?

Dearest IRC,

Please tell me some good places for karaoke which will hold a fairly large group of people, and that are not too crowded.

Thank you in advance,

I go to Annies Blue Moon on montague street in brooklyn hieghts every saterday night. It usually starts around 11:30 (or whenever the football game ends) and continues on till the bar closes. Its also FREE. They use a cdg player and 2 handheld wireless mics. They convert all the sports TV's into kareoke TV's so you could walk around the bar singing if you really wanted to.

Theres a bar on St. Marks thats pretty good but its small and crowded and you have to pay a dollar per song. They use a vcd player, which means all the kareoke tracks have really cheesy music videos. This CAN be fun when 2 tables start an all out kareoke war with each other.

I'll plug it again because I think it's that good. I highly recommend Bourbon Street on Amsterdam between 79th and 80th on Monday and Tuesday nights. Karaoke is free, and the KJ, Ivette, is awesome. It's more crowded on Tuesdays, but on Mondays, you're almost guaranteed a run of the place. Granted, it's not like getting a private karaoke room, but then again, it's FREE.

I think a good person for you to ask this question to is Eric Appel because I know he likes to go do some karaoke. I know he use to go to Muse with a lot of other members of The IRC.

Wait!

I have only been there once and it was FOREVER ago, but does anyone know of a place in Chinatown that's kind of a run down bar with a stage for the K. And there is one Asian man who really likes to sing?

And, will I ever learn how to ask a question that makes sense?
