My friend Neil is finally getting his romantic comedy made! (Currently experiencing 90% joy, 10% envy.) He sent me an e-mail asking for extras, so I'm passing along the information to my talented comrades.

*****
[The following e-mail excerpt is from Neil Turitz, the writer/director, and NOT me. He has since told me that it would be best just to contact the casting director he mentions below.]

"Knots" is going in front of the cameras starting this Saturday, April 5th.
This major motion picture will star Tara Reid, John Stamos, Annabeth Gish,
Paulina Porizkova, Scott Cohen (from last year's little indie hit "Kissing
Jessica Stein") and a terrific young actor named Michael Leydon Campbell.

The budget is small, but hopes are high, and I'm sending this missive not
just to let you all know about the start of what we in the business call
"principal photography," but also to ask for your help.

We need extras.

I know many of you have expressed interest in being a part of the magic of
movie making, hence the mass missive. There are plenty of scenes -in bars,
restaurants, a party or two- where we'll need some people to hang out in the
background and pretend to talk, so, if you're looking to get your face on the
big screen and become a part of the indie film world, now's your big chance!

There are a couple ways to do this, so read carefully.

You can either get in touch with me, via response to this e-mail [Lovematza@aol.com] or by giving
me a call (917-701-3200 is the cell, or 212-869-1461 is the production
office), or, even better, you can drop an e-mail to Kristen Paladino, who is
handling the extras casting. Her e-mail address is paladinocasting@aol.com.
Please mention my name when you send her an e-mail, as she is expecting to
hear from some of you and will prioritize your responses over those of others.

One caveat: if you agree to show up and be an extra on a certain day and at a
certain time, we need you to show up. No flaking out allowed.

So, I hope many of you will want to come out and be a part of this. It should
be a lot of fun and it'd be cool to have friends on the set while we're doing
this.

No. "Not for extras," he says.

(I hope that doesn't infuriate anyone. I'm somewhat ignorant about actor politics/labor relations.)

Just to be clear...the first message, besides my intro, is not from me. It's from Neil Turitz, the writer/director. I have nothing to do with this other than that he's my friend.
