Nominate a user to be a moderator

Within a few months the software that runs this message board will be updated with loads of new features. Among the new features will be better handling of moving threads from one forum to another. When that happens, I intend to add 2-3 moderators to help run things around here. Moderators would have term limits, say three to six months. And I would look for people who are patient, polite and even tempered. Beyond that I would like to make sure at least one person isn't from NYC and that all moderators should be members for at least 6 months.

So, which members would you suggest as good moderators? Feel free to PM me with suggestions or concerns that you don't want to post publicly.

I had the same inclination about Wrong Forum. But I think ol' WF would be the first to point out he does not fit Mullaney's criteria.

Wrong Forum hasn't been a member for 6 months.

Well, I'm sure the person behind it has been, but since we're talking details and technicalities...this is quite the conundrum.

But I definitely think WF has proven he'd be a good moderator.

Whoever WF is ought to fess up their real handle, so they can actually do the job they have always dreamt of! It will be like Fame, but for retarded posts.

But is WF "patient, polite and even tempered?"

1. i don't find wrong forum to be condescending

2. why, if they become moderator, should they be forced to fess up their real handle? what does that prove or help in the way of forum moderating? i think it's nice that they are not overshadowed by reputation (improv or otherwise) etc., and just go about doing their job.

just a thought.

Personally, I think that if you have to resort to a fake name to try to help a situation along, it's inherently condescending. I understand the desire to do good, but there's something about WF that just isn't on the level, and I think that's tied into the name as much as anything else.

That said, the person who is behind it definitely has a good eye for this kind of thing,
