No longer getting a pop-up window for Private Messages

It's turned on in my options, and I've waited for it at home with my cable modem and at work with my T1 and it never pops. This has been true for the last 8-10 PMs I have recieved over the last two weeks or so, and I have waited to mention it because I thought I accidentally turned it off and was too lazy to check.

In the past few weeks, I get my 'new PM' popup window less than 1/3 of the time that I should. In the past week or so, I can't remember getting any popup boxes - but then I've started checking for new messages. I find out if I have a PM when I go to user cp to be lazy and check threads that way (I'm subscribed to this forum, and the user cp is how I found this thread), or if I PM someone and it takes me to my inbox...or I just happen to think to check my inbox.

I thought it was just me.

It only does it once for every new message, so if some reason you miss the first one, you won't get more pop ups every time you come here. I'm not sure what's going on. I get it every time.

I don't think that's the problem. It didn't seem so, so I sent out PM yesterday and didn't go back to the IRC until I got the email about my PMs. Then I just sat on the main forum page and waited, and nothing happened.

The popup can only happen when you load a new page. Nothing happens if you just sit and wait.

I wanted to make sure the page was finished loading. That's why I "sat". I was loading it as a new page.

I think he's in denial.

If I get to a thread by clicking a link via email notice, I don't get the popups. If I get to a forum by going through my favorites list in Explorer, I do.

Once I get to the site via email notice, if I sit for awhile because I'm typing or on the phone or something, and then post or change pages...I'll get a popup - sometimes. If I view someone's journal entry due to an email notice, then steadily change pages every few minutes, I don't get the popup.

Kind of weird.

And I'm betting this post is really confusing to everyone but myself.
