New UCB site design

#22
Hey gang,

Thanks for your comments, keep them coming. The new site design was by Steve Dressler (ThatGuySven). All the coding and functionality is mine.

There are still a couple small bugs we're working out. The schedule is displaying the full month view correctly as of yesterday. Harold and Maude team rosters are definitely going to appear on their respective show pages, don't fret.

I'm definitely interested in feedback for our more experimental features, like the iCal feed for the whole schedule, a particular show's schedule, and classes. I've tested this on as many different platforms as I could, but I'd like to hear how well it works for other individual's situations. Regarding the time zone discrepancy you're seeing, the iCal feeds DO supply the time zone to which the dates and times apply. So LA shows will appear as being 3 hours behind if you're Calendar client believes itself to be in EST. This is confusing, but it could save your ass if you're jumping on the Concorde after the 7:30 ASSSSSCAT on 26th St. to catch Jeff Garlin's Combo Platter at 9:30pm on Franklin Ave.

Most aesthetic/styling bugs are only affecting the poor souls using Internet Explorer 6, presumably on their eMachines connecting through AOL. If you are one of the damned and can't, for whatever reason, Get Firefox, wait a few days.

Brace yourselves for tons more features coming down the pike.

P.S. To UCB Performers: Keep posting your videos to UCBcomedy.com!

i was just about to post that the front page interface looks a lot better today; that is either because i am on camino at home and not the stupid IE i have to use at work, or because some kinks have been ironed out. i likes it

Hey, one small request: on the reservation page, "I would like to sign up for the UCBT Newsletter" isn't a <label> element. Every time I make a reservation, I wish it was.

Hey Neil. I can't get Google Calendar to load the iCal feed properly. I can subscribe, but the times are off by a full five hours, and I keep getting the error, "Oops, we couldn't load details for your calendar, please try again in a few minutes."

Also, iCal itself can't subscribe to the feed unless I change the protocol from ics:// to http://. Once it subscribes, though, the times are correct.

Alright windows users, things should be looking a little nicer for you now.

The LABEL tag is present now too for my beloved nitpickers.

I'm still trying to get to the bottom of the Google Calendar thing ... it's definitely an oddity.

Just FYI, the Dildonics functionality is only enabled for people on the performers page. You also have to add www.ucbtheatre.com, newyork.ucbtheatre.com, and losangeles.ucbtheatre.com to your Trusted Sites list.

Also, disable your pop-up blocker.

It would be great if each of the subdomains could set a non-expiring cookie so that when I go to ucbtheater.com/classes I'm redirected to newyork.ucbtheater.com/classes. For autocompletion purposes, typing "ucb" is a hundred times more specific than typing "new," since that also comes up with craigslist pages, newyorker.com pages, etc.

This is down to the nits. The site is really beautiful.
