There are places that do this but charge a goddamn fortune (I've looked into this). If you find a place that does it cheap or find anyone who has the hardware, let me know!

A guy in my office and I discussed this and determined that you can link a stereo output to your computer's microphone input via a cable somehow and download the sound via some type of audio software (possibly through QuickTime), and then burn the CDs.

I know, no help. But keep me posted!

Yes, apparantly it is possible to hook up my 15 year old "boom box" to my computer via a headphone output --> mic input connector. Lucky, I happen to have such a connector lying around my apartment. The quality is far from spectacular, the levels are too high, but at least it's recording on my sound editting software and will soon be transferred to CD.

I'm sure those in need can buy the connector at radio shack or on the net.
