Moving to Greensboro

Hey,

I am moving to Greensboro in a couple of months and was wondering what the scene is like either in Greensboro or within reasonable driving distance (up to 2 hours). Also, how would I go about getting involved in it down there? I trained over at the UCB theatre and with Armando Diaz.

Looking forward to North Carolina BBQ!

DSI loves you! Yes you! Come hang out at a show and go out for some food afterwards, we love taking people out to eat (ask the Chicken Ranch).

Thanks for all the response. I can't wait to make the move up there. We are going to be in North Carolina looking at apartments from May 26th-May 29th. Anything going on around then?

Yeah! On May 28th, there's huge party being thrown by DSI to raise money for a new theater we plan to open in September!

There's some really cool stuff up for auction, including film memoriabilia donated & autographed by Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Matt Damon; Tickets to Conan; Comedy Central souvenirs; fancy jewelry; Reiki services; and more!

9pm-3am is going to be a good ol' House Party. For a $10 donation you can party all night with cool DJ and a Video Power hour made by our very own BeDirty.com .

Hope you can make it Jason! It's gonna be really fun.

We won't be having any weekend shows till our new space opens up. Right now we are only playing Tuesday nights at 8:00pm at the Skylight Exchange in chapel hill.

Emily and I had a great time at the DSI fundraiser. Everyone we met there was so cool and made us feel real welcome. It was great to see Ross and Jennings again. I would try to list all the cool people we met, but then I would forget a name and Corey Brown would get all pissed off.

So, on our way back to our car we did go against many people's advice and stopped at Time Out for some middle of the night BBQ. It was good going down, I say that much. It wasn't quite as friendly when I woke up at 4:30 in the morning.

Anyhow, thanks to everyone for being so cool to us and we can't wait to move up there. It seems like a great scene you all started.

Late post - but come and catch us at the Idiot Box in Downtown Greensboro. We always are looking for new fun people. Someone plugged us in early in this thread (THANKS!), but they were right...we're good people. And we're right in your backyard (not literally, that'd be a bit creepy).
