Wanted to Try Standup But Don't Know Where to Begin?
Legendary Comedy Director Jeff Michalski teaches a full-day workshop in the art of standup comedy.
- In the first one hour session, students will learn techniques to write hilarious material easily. Find your unique comic personality and tailor your act just to you, to set yourself apart from other comedians.
- Then an hour break, with pizza and refreshments provided and a chance for you to write a few jokes based on what you learned in the morning.
- Finally, in the second session, you will learn to perform those jokes and engage the audience, to make sure you leave them rolling in the aisles and don't bomb.
- And a performance opportunity for each student in the coming weeks.

Jeff Michalski is the founder of the world-famous Second City ETC and co-founder of the Second City Training Center and current Artistic Director of the Fanatic Salon Comedy Theater in Los Angeles.
He's directed shows for Second City in Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles and Ireland. Among the people he's taught and directed: Stephen Colbert, Chris Farley, Tim Meadows, Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and many, many more.
