WEDNESDAY
LECTURE

WHAT: Michael Palin
wish I could go...

WHEN: Wed 4.2 (7pm)
WHERE: Barnes & Noble (33 E 17th St, 212.253.0810)
PRICE: FREE

To quote his own words, Michael Palin has gone from being "a
very silly person to being a very silly explorer." To his comedic
credit, he has scored kudos for Monty Python's Flying Circus and
his roles in films like Time Bandits and A Fish Called Wanda (who
can forget K..kk..ken). Now Palin is enjoying a second career as a
world traveler. His first journey back in 1988, Around the World in
80 Days, became a BBC TV series and a book. He has since gone
Pole-to-Pole, Full Circle, on a Hemingway Adventure, and, most recently,
to the Sahara. Tonight, Palin discusses what he encountered in this
beautiful yet deadly desert that is equal in size to the United States.
Given the character of the subject and the man, this should be an
interesting evening. (MB)

If you're going to this, would you consider doing me a favor?

My mom is a big fan of Michael Palin. It's her birthday this Saturday and I'm going to Texas to see her. I already planned on buying Sahara for her and she would love to have an autographed copy. If Mr. Palin is signing, would someone please buy an extra copy and get it autographed for my mom, Kathie? I will pay you back and buy you a beer, sincerely. I will be at the theater tonight teching Kung Fu Grip and dancing in Fancy, if that is convenient as a drop-off/payment point. call me at 917-586-5213 if you can help me out.

Thanks,
Dan Winckler
