Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Funny
Starting Saturday, October 9, 2004, Just The Funny, Miami’s Home for Improv and Sketch Comedy, begins its ongoing run of two great 90-minute shows every Saturday night at both 9 and 11, at the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium, for a price that’s almost too good to be true. Just The Funny offers up interactive improv and sketch comedy featuring a line up that blends the best of Chicago style improv shows, “Whose Line is it Anyway” meets “Saturday Night Live” style improv and sketch comedy shows, with the crowd favorite “The Love Machine,” and even its own version of a live improvised “Survivor” style show. JTF offers its’ 9 pm show for $10.00, its’ 11 pm show for $5.00, or both shows for a night of “comedic genius” for a discounted rate of $12.00.
Making audiences laugh since 1999, Just The Funny, presents its own brand of improv comedy featuring crazy characters such as “Carlos Valdez, Jr.” (actor Alex Perdomo) Hialeah’s most eligible bachelor, in the audience favorite “The Love Machine,” a takeoff on the game show The Dating Game. JTF are also the local pioneers in performing Chicago style improv, which is made up of creating hilarious scenes based off of a single audience suggestion. In “Survivor Improv,“ Just The Funny lets the audience vote off the cast from an imaginary island, in a series of improv challenges based on their input.
Just The Funny, is no stranger to improv and sketch comedy in South Florida, celebrating it’s 5th season in 2004, with dynamic shows that keep audiences rolling in the isles and flocking to the theatre. JTF are also the hosts of The Miami Improv Festival, one of the world’s top improv festivals.
