Matt Dennie - Looking To Direct!

#1
Hi Everyone!

My name is Matt Dennie and I am looking to direct more sketch shows and other live comedy projects.

I currently have a sketch show running at UCB that I wrote (with Josh Sharp) and perform in: MANEATER: The True Story of the Champawat Tigress. In addition I host, produce, and write for COOL SHIT/WEIRD SHIT at the Beast which has new, thematic material every month.

I am the Director and a writer for Showtime with Anthony Apruzzese. I have also directed numerous Web projects, including tons of sketches with my internet-based sketch group Cardigan Comedy. As an actor, I was in Brandon Gardner’s The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln: A Comedy and have been in numerous Spanks as well. I have a really strong grasp of the Spank process and will do everything I can to ensure your show is the best it can possibly be prior to submitting or putting it up on stage. I will also use a strong theater background to add details to your show that will help set it apart from others!

I'm interested in sketch shows, one-person shows, talk shows, weird stuff, and all other forms of comedy that need directing. You name it I will direct it! If you are interested please reach me at matthew.dennie@gmail.com. I can also provide references and examples of other work upon request.

Thanks!

I highly recommend Matt Dennie. He does some of the funniest and most original stuff at the theatre and is extremely deticated. Without a doubt, he will help you create good valuable comedy that is funny and also your vision. Grab this guy.

I have first hand experience working with Matt as a director and I couldn't recommend him enough. Matt won't change your voice, he won't make you do things that aren't your style of comedy - he will figure out how to make your show the best show possible while staying true to your comedic sensibility.

Matt never says "no." However, he will figure out all of the "how?'s" your show might have. How to pull things off logistically, how to make a bit work better, all that stuff.

Book him before he gets even busier.

Not sure you'll be able to find a more talented director who will make you as comfortable as he does when you have an idea and want to pitch it.

Matt has already directed me in two shows and he's superb.

I’ve had the pleasure of having Matt Dennie as both a long-term improv coach and a director for internet sketches. The guy’s a comedy workhorse and is truly passionate about what he does.

I feel lucky every chance I get to work with him. I can’t recommend him enough.
