Matt Cutler would very much like to coach you

I'm Matt Cutler and I'd like to coach your improv group.

I perform Harolds with UCB house team Monstro, The Movie with Oscarbait, and other stuff with Merv Burn and Dogbasket.

I've been studying at UCB since the Spring of 2007 and I've studied with a lot of great people. Particular interests include The Movie, which I studied with Dyna Moe, Anthony Atamanuik, and Kirk Damato, Monoscenes, which I studied with Curtis Gwinn, and Two-Person improv, which I studied with Brandon Gardner.

I'd love to teach you a new form. I'd be excited to get down to brass tacks with scene work fundamentals. And, thirdly, I'm rarin' to deal with more abstract elements of improv like style, tone, and integrity.

Bottom line: I'll work on whatever you want to and I'm available almost all the time.

I've had the pleasure and honor of improvising with Cutler on a variety of projects over the last two years. He really knows his stuff, and is very intelligent and precise about improv, comedy, game, forms, etc.

Really a no-brainer here, get Matt to coach you.

I've also improvised with Matt a ton in Dogbasket, Oscarbait, and Merv Burn, a team you've probably never heard of.

You know how if you want to show someone's smart in an improv scene you just say they went to Harvard? This guy actually DID go to Harvard! He's really smart!

More importantly he's a really great communicator about improv and comedy in general. Hire him!

Oh jeez, what luck, New York improvisers! Cutler is a fantastically sharp, hilarious, and knows how to add to a scene to clarify it's game or to make it more fun and interesting. He's also a really good person, which may or may not seem important for an improv coach to be, but is totally important.

Matt Cutler is just one of the smartest improvisers (and people) I have ever had the pleasure to work with. His grasp on game is evident in that he steps out into our openings with one ready to go, a skill I can assure you is rare. His ability to intellectualize and verbalize ideas about improv is really stellar.

He would be a great coach for any team at any level. USE HIM!

Good Coach

Matt has been coaching several of us for a while now, and he has great insight and provides for a fun, open session.

I recommend him for your group, but not while we're practicing - that just wouldn't work.

Matt Cutler, Tall and Talented

Matt currently coaches my team of 301 and 401 alums and has been consistently smart, kind, open, energetic, and funny. Every exercise we've done has helped us get to our games in a faster and smarter way both as a team, and as students in our other classes.

We adore him - you would too.

Matt Cutler, Tall and Talented

Matt Cutler is a smart, open, kind, and talented individual who I am proud to call my coach. Matt has been working with my team of 301 and 401 alums, and I am in awe of our growth in just a short amount of time. Every exercise he brings us has truly elevated our ability to achieve smarter and faster games which we use as a team, and in our separate classes.

Matt is also an excellent performer, which is especially rewarding to watch after working with him. Go see him and hire him.

This dude knows his shit. He conveys ideas and premises simply, can play and support game with ease, knows what a show needs, and just has a blast adding his own, smart comedic spin off of your ideas. He often says "yea" after you pitch an idea and goddamn that makes you feel good and defines "playing to the top of your intelligence". So snatch this badass up and he'll give ya a nice roadmap on how to do this makem-up stuff.

Matt's my best friend and paid me to write this

I recently started an Indie group with a bunch of talented performers and our search for a coach led us to Matt Cutler. I couldn't be more satisfied. He's incredibly professional, insightful, critical, encouraging and positive. Matt makes you a better improviser. I absolutely recommend him.

Matt has subbed for me with various groups that I coach, and whenever I ask "Hey, how did it go with Matt last week?" I get endless complaints such as:

"Matt was awesome!"

"He really knows his shit."

"We had a great practice, can we have him again sometime?"

Matt is one of my favorite people to watch improvise and he has loads of experience in fun forms. He is most likely, the exact coach you are looking for.

HIRE MATT CUTLER!!!
