Get out of your brain and into the scene. All lessons are designed to create an immediate sense of trust, synergy, and agreement. Art of Patience
The funniest parts of scenes are most commonly the behavior-inspired, relationship-based moments that arise naturally from listening patiently and responding appropriately. In this workshop we'll aim for those moments with some fun and relevant exercises, and by practicing longer, slower scenework - scenes with room to breathe. The emphasis will be on creating clear relationships, exploring them and making discoveries naturally. Trust, and the funny will come. Four weeks of class followed by a graduation performances. Prerequisite: Level One or equivalent experience. Limit 14 students.

Master Class with Rachel Hamilton
This is a class for advanced improvisers who want to explore their work more deeply. Leaving behind the tried and true techniques that have become our standard choices on stage, we will take the risk to play with even more truth, more commitment and more connection to our partner and our environment. Each week, class will have a different focus designed to stretch and expand the individual improvisers as well as the ensemble in a space where it is safe to "fail." Prerequisite: Level Three or equivalent experience (or permission of instructor). Limit 14 students.

One Day Workshop: Intimacy & Group Mind with Rick Andrews

We’ll work on forging a real connection to our scene partners to get access to more impactful scenework, and we’ll take some of the mysticism out of “group mind” and learn how to connect as an ensemble. In this class, you will learn the basic elements of telling a narrative story, how to take a crowd by surprise and make them care, how to be real and truthful on stage, and how to discover and communicate the real meaning behind your experience. Classes will include verbal and written exercises, examples of performances from some of the finest storytellers, and various techniques and approaches to prepare yourself for a performance of your story. What you’ll get out of the class: at least one polished, six-to-eight minute story, which could be the beginning of a one-person show, and the fundamentals needed to develop future stories.
