Deal With It with Mark Grenier
As improvisers, we often expect others to play by certain rules and we get frustrated when teammates don't meet our expectations. Sometimes we need a reminder that the improviser's job is to accept - to accept everything and to embrace every contribution as a gift. Your ability to "yes and" is truly tested when encountering the unusual, the unexpected, and the undesired. In this workshop you'll be confronted with things you may despise - questions, denials, curve balls, poor listening, bad object work, selfish partners, and complete stupidity - and you'll learn ways to not just accept it but to make magic out of it. Stop wishing for the ideal partner and deal with it. 3 weeks. Prerequisite: Level One or equivalent experience. Limit 14 students.

Instructor: Mark Grenier
Day: Saturdays, 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Starting: Jan 8, 2011
Cost: $99

Most of the class will be about the work, but of course some of the class will be devoted to the business, and the improvement (or creation) of your sketch packet. 6 weeks. No experience required. Open to all. Limit 12 students.

Storytelling Level Two with Adam Wade - 1 Spot Left
Learn how to create one 15-18 minute entertaining story based on a real, personal experience. Gain a clear understanding of structure, arc and theme.
Develop singular images and descriptions-- and employ them effectively within the narrative. Develop strategies for gathering your ideas and notes. This course will focus on various critical thinking methods that will enable your unique personal and physical traits to contribute to your telling.

Utilize sounds, visuals, and multimedia to compliment your stories, create an outline, build your confidence to make revisions on the fly.
