The LOS ANGELES COMEDY FESTIVAL provides a platform for emerging comedic talent to promote their works to industry heavyweights and Los Angeles audiences. As the largest film and live comedy festival in the US, LACF has featured over 1,700 performers and 300 films from Los Angeles and around the world during its ten-day event.
LACF delivers big on networking opportunities and parties, packed screenings and shows, press coverage, a thoughtfully programmed lineup of comedic works, and useful industry workshops. With an emphasis on discovering great comedic talent from around the world, LACF celebrates the artistry of live comedy, the work of comedic content creators making short films, TV pilots, web series, feature films, and animation, as well as screenwriters with its newly added Screenplay Competition.
Highlights from last season include World Premiere screenings of DILF, A TRUE STORY, I OWE MY LIFE TO CORBIN BLEU, NONTOURAGE. Films screened featured performances by Paula Abdul, Drake Bell, Corbin Bleu, Kate Bosworth, Tim Daly, Rosario Dawson, Janeanne Garofalo, Greg Grunberg, Tom Hanks, Katherine Heigl, Sarah Hyland, Peyton Manning, Seth Meyers, Elise Neal, Carrie Preston, Michael Trucco, tWitch, Zoe Saldana, Kurtwood Smith, Nia Vardalos, Rita Wilson and Bokeem Woodbine. Additionally an extremely informative Screenplay Workshop and Pitch Session with WILLIAM MORRIS ENDEAVOR, Story Editor Chris Lockhart and Cindy McCreery (POWDER PUFFS, SOCCER MOM) added to the fun.
Along with a gut-busting line-up of comedic films, LACF also features nonstop live comedy including Improv, Sketch, and Standup. Featured performers from last season included GALLAGHER, FRANK LIOTTI, and award-winning sketch comedy troupes KEILLY & ROETERS, THE RIOT ACT, THE TURNBUCKLE BOYS, CITY HALL and OPM.
The festival has brought out the industry in force, with attendance by ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO, FOX TV, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, COMEDY CENTRAL, COMEDY CENTRAL FILMS, E! ENTERTAINMENT, MTV, WARNER BROTHERS, WORLDWIDE PANTS, SONY, OXYGEN, SPIKE TV, BRILLSTEIN ENTERTAINMENT PARTNERS, CAA, UTA, ICM, PARADIGM and many production companies, agents, managers, casting directors and more.
