Looking for Youth Improv Teachers

The Second City Training Center in Los Angeles seeks qualified part-time teachers with a unique set of qualifications for its growing youth program. Applicants for this position should have the following skills and attributes:

Demonstrated success teaching youth and teens
A thorough understanding of the tenants of improvisation
Advanced understanding of improvisational short form games
An understanding of acting concepts
Exceptional communication skills
Patience
Respect for individual learning differences and an ability to adapt as needed
An ability to communicate clearly and sensitively
Maintain a positive attitude especially in regards to communication with office staff, parents and students
An ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers, administrative staff, and parents.
A CPR certification or willingness to attend CPR training to obtain certification.
A willingness to adapt as needed to changes and evolution of our program as it grows
This position requires a good deal of interaction with parents. Teachers represent our training center when working with parents. Applicants should have a willingness to listen and respond to parental concerns/requests and to communicate these concerns with the office staff.
Degree in Education is preferred.

There is the possibility of work to be done outside of the classroom. Applicants should be highly organized, reliable and motivated in order to minimize outside work.
