Greetings one and all! I’m a member of a sketch group and this past summer we shot a rather extensive and lengthy video project. We’ve been embroiled in the editing process for a while now and we’re currently looking for some help in a few post-production areas, primarily in the arena of some basic special effects we need done. We’re seeking some people with some experience who can work FAST to get a few effects shots accomplished. We’re seeking some people who have experience using After Effects to do the following.
** Some Laser Beams – We’ve got a few lasers that get shot at people in our video. I mean, let’s be honest, what is a sketch video without lasers? Not much of a sketch video if you ask me. There isn’t a whole lot of this kind of work to be done (about 8 shots, all very short) but we’re just too bogged down with sound mixing and finishing the editing to get to it ourselves in the limited amount of time we have.
** Blind Date Titles – One of our fine sketches is a parody of the television show Blind Date and a several of the jokes rely pretty heavily on those ridiculous titles that appear in the show. We’ll be able to provide some reference material (yes, we have the “Blind Date: Uncensored” DVDs) and the actual text for the pop-ups. We need someone who can create the art and do the animation in After Effects.
** Worst Case Scenario Titles – Similar to the Blind Date parody, we’ve got a “Worst Case Scenario” parody in the show that needs some pretty faithful title work done to it. We’ll be able to provide reference material and text for this as well. We need the art and animation done.
** Composite Work – We can explain this in more detail if you have experience doing composite work, but basically we need to make it appear as if a few people are floating in space. We’ve shot our “Space” and we’ve shot the people we need floating there against a useable backdrop. We need someone to effectively put it together though. Naturally, the show is comedy and it doesn’t have to look as good as “Lost in Space” the movie, but rather more like “Lost in Space” the TV Show.
If anyone can help out with this stuff, we’d love you forever. We can give you a little bit of cash for working on this… But I’ll be honest, it will probably only be enough to get you a few beers. (But hey… It’s beer!) Our budget for this thing is tapped and we’re really looking for people that want to help out a sketch group struggling to get their project completed.
Again, the key word for us accomplishing this stuff is FAST FAST FAST. We’d probably be handing you some footage on Monday and we’d need some results by the week’s end. I know this is extremely rushed… But we’re in a serious pinch. Anyone who thinks they can help, please drop a line.
