I am looking for a couple of sketch comedy writers who are interested in working on a one night only fund-raising event for Broadway Cares. The show will be based on old time radio variety shows, in the style of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. The feel of the show should be old fashioned 1940's radio, but the jokes and dialog need to be contemporary and relate to audiences today. It is a hard combination, but not impossible. Many of the scenes between Stewie and Brian on Family Guy are great examples.
So ideally, the writers need to be familiar with current Broadway shows and audiences and with old fashioned radio (especially Bob Hope and Bing Crosby), or with old television variety shows like Sid Ceaser or Carol Burnett.
There is no pay for this, but the event will be great exposure for all involved. Many of the performers will be some of Broadway's top talent and many industry folks will attend.
Please contact me for more details if you are interested or know anyone who is.

Thanks!
