I received a PM requesting me to post what I like and don’t like about London, so here goes.
Likes:
· The parks
· Summer: the days are long and you can drink outside
· The international culture: I have friends from France, Poland, Germany, Canada, New Zealand and, of course, England. Where else can you date North American, South American, European and antipodean guys (not at the same time, mind you)?
· Buses: my best tip to people first moving here is to take the bus, you learn the city much better
· The hours: outside of the city (financial district) you aren’t expected to work much more than 40 hours a week
· Cheap travel to cities in Europe
· The fact that a washing machine comes standard in just about all flats
· Indian food
Dislikes:
· The weather
· The fact that pubs close at 11
· The tube: anyone who likes the tube is a tourist
· The cost of living, for instance, you have to pay a tax just to watch TV
· Customer service
· Queuing for everything
· You cannot get good Mexican food
