im going to asssscat to see the show for my birthday and my family insists on spending that time with me. unfortunatly, i have an 11 year old brother who my parents would like to come. ive tried telling them that he really shouldnt, but they say "give me an age limit. isnt there an age limit??" i say no (how many 11 year old kids hang out there on a sunday night? christ...) but they say "im sure someone could give you an idea" so...please help me. just a simple reply. the age you think would be too young for an asssscat. and then this post could be completely ignored. help a poor birthday girl here. :)

Um, from what I've gathered, I don't think an 11 year old would even get half the jokes. And your parents would be pretty pissed off.

depends on how cool your parents are with dirty jokes.
i haven't seen anything at asssscat that was highly scandalous, but they definately curse, dry hump each other, reference drugs, drink, etc. i'd put it at pg-13 most nights, r on nights that veer blue.

Take the kid. They may work him into the show.

Children and improv are always fine. Always.

No sarcasm. Always.

Take him to Foreplay. OK, not always.

But almost. Always.

There was a 9 year old at the DCM this year. During Ian and Walshes show, they called him up out of the audience and both Ian and Walsh started improvising with him on stage. Walsh started prophesizing to the 9 year old that "one day this theater will all be yours" and Ian started getting jealous. It escalated into an improv-off, Ian versus the 9 year old, which Ian lost.

Later in the show, Ian gave the 9 year old a working blowtorch and a lighter to light the blowtorch(Ian secretly turned on the safty on the lighter before giving it to him, so it wouldnt actually spark.). It was by far one of the funniest things ive ever seen at the theater. It was also an impresive display of skill on Ian's behalf, cause that 9 year old was "actively and purposefully" playing the game Ian had set up with him.

The theater policy is if you're under 16 you must be accompanied by an adult. We are also instructed to stress that it IS improv, so any subject or wording may be used at any times. We give no "rating" on the content of the show, because we won't know the content of the show until it's already happened.

On a side note: I intern Assscat. If the child's parents will blush at the word "dick"- I wouldn't bring him along.
