Tell me your stories.
I had no idea it was such a common thing here, until it happened to me. I lived 12 years in a crappy little studio that never had a leaky roof. Second night in my beautiful new, double-the-rent-apt. (just up the block) and it's raining in my bedroom.
I was astonished to learn, (mainly from co-workers) how common it is, and how "normal" they think it is.
What about you all? Especially you transplants, what are your stories and what do you think about it?

common...this city has a nack for not knowing how to build for inclimate weather

my old place if it it rained for two days straight, it would end up leaking through vents into the ceiling

plus from what I've heard, the quakes create cracks in roofs
