Let's say that someone's apartment--someone with a legal lease-- had a pipe in the bathroom that broke and starting shooting water around 8 feet and filled the apartment with around 2-3 inches of water. The super, the building manager, and landlord were unreachable in this situation until the next day when the landlord agreed to pay for the plumber but claimed he didn't have insurance for this type of thing and in terms of damages said he wanted to wait for everything to dry out. Let's say in this situation most of the apartment is carpeted all of which is wet and will probably mildew. What would be the best way for this tenant to go about this type of situation? let's say the damage includes a laptop, a printer, a scanner, some leather shoes, and a couch.
does anybody know any deals on studios or one bedrooms in the city?
Thanks!
