LA Improv Scene

You guys ... no one uses this board (which brings me to believe that no one will actually read this post). Where's the daily cascade of information as to the goings on in LA? Am I to belive that nothing goes on except for Ian Roberts moving here and a few people needing someone to sublet their apartment. Awww, I miss the Chicago message boards, emmmmm ... so much information .. people helping each other .... th el ... uncommon grounds ... strange cargo ... awww...

The weather fucking rocks though.

I told Mullaney that would be the case. I'm of the opinion that the LA folks don't sit inside on their computers all day, trapped at office day jobs, like in other cities. I do, but I've apparently missed the boat.

People here do not seem to be on their computers as much, period. I find that to be true even when emailing my friends. They're on for like 10 minutes in the morning. Or at 12:20 a.m.....They're not on, all at once, during the same period of time, like in Chicago or NY, so you can get a really volatile discussion going.
They come here, look around, maybe post about their show, then never come again.

That's my theory anyway.

Ms. Sunshine is married to the world. I know it was my idea but I won't make it out tonight. But we should try to get some IRC LA thing popping

Looks like my idea for getting together at Valleys Valley Bar and grill of the Valley is out. How bout some place in Hollywood? Cat and fiddle, pig and whistle? Jones?

I've thought about this too. And I think that LA improvisers are just unaware of this board. For people in Chicago and NYC, these boards are part of the community. Most of the people on the LA thread are transplants.

I challenge anyone who reads the LA section to make themselves known.

Me, I'm from the Dirty South - http://www.dirtysouthimprov.com.

You mean, the L.A. improvisors who are NOT from Chicago and NY are unaware of this board. Most Chicago/IO transplants are, I know that.

I second that challenge.

Yes. Most improvisers from NYC and Chitown know about this board. I also agree, that if, or when, UCB puts a theatre out here - a lot more people are going to be transplanting.

Challenge still on the table Los Angelinos.

See, like now, this time of day would be a good time for us to talk to each other. Most everyone east of here has left work for the day....this is the time I get bored.

Although someone is lurking here....
