Keeping in "improv shape?"

#1
After going through training programs at the various improv theaters in Chicago, what are some ways to continue to keep yourself in "improv shape?" I've noticed that if I don't perform for a while, I have a shake off the cobwebs and take some time to get back into it, and I don't want that to happen if I want to go to an audition for perform in a show.

Call up some friends of yours from classes that you really jived with and tell them you want to form a practice group. Meet up once a week or so in a rented rehearsal space and have someone experienced (a former teacher, a performer you really like) that you trust run you through some exercises. This may even eventually turn a performance group! Attend any jams offered by any theaters - you may meet people there that you want to join your practice group as well.
