Joe Stanton coach

Hello IRC,

I'm Joe Stanton, and I'd like to coach your indie team or practice group.

I've been doing improv since 2007, and have been studying at UCB since 2009. In New York I've studied under/practiced extensively under Chelsea Clarke, Neil Casey, Betsy Stover, Shannon O'Neill, Gavin Speiller, Will Hines, Terry Withers, and Megan Neuringer. I'm on the indie team The Smitts.

Lately I've been really into listening at the top of the scene and cutting out bullshitty-jokey behavior (I have not succeeded at this completely, personally, but it sure is on my mind). That said, send me an email and we can work together on what your group has on its collective mind.

I've got a fair amount of availability (most weeknights and weekends). I'm also cheap! $20/hr.

PS: I have a mustache and I will talk to you about soccer or A Song of Ice and Fire. Free of charge.

Looking for a coach who's too afraid of crowds to be busy during DCM? That's me! I'm pretty unoccupied this weekend and would be happy to run a DCM tuneup or just a regular practice.

I've been thinking a lot lately on how to foment agreement in scenes, how that leads to getting authentic opinions out, how it improves acting, etc. If this is something that's on the mind of your group, or something that you want to work on, let's work on it together!

Or, if you prefer, I will put you through my patented shortform exercise, The Fartinator.

Either way, I'm available. Hit me up!

It's not just coaching--it's friendship. I'm available tonight and tomorrow night, for sure, and probably later in the week, depending on the time.

There probably won't be an NBA this year, so I'll need something to fill my winter. Book me for coaching, you won't be sorry!

I've been thinking a lot about agreement lately, how it really is key to making a good scene. Let's work on agreement together. It means more than just matching!

Hey brochichos,

Let's talk improv: I want to help you guys be the best you can be, and really act the shit out of your scenes. Also, I want to teach you how best to mime masturbation.

thanks!

Happy (almost) 2012! I'm available to coach improv all throughout the last year of life on Earth.

I can also direct sketch groups. I write and produce The Clean Show every month and have hella theater experience. Let's do funny stuff!

I find that when an improviser/team gets to the 401-Advanced study level, he or she/they (?) starts having trouble listening, for a lot of reasons. God knows it happened to me. Hire me to coach and we can work on your listening and make your scenes easier.

Here are my coaching guarantees:

-I'll be efficient and won't waste your time with a bunch of useless crap.
-I will be nice
-I will wear pants
-Competitive rates
-I often have candy and if I have it, I will offer you some. Guaranteed candy to anyone who hires me in the next week.

Happy 2012, my droogs!
