You need to have 5 posts and perhaps be a member for a minimum number of days. Click on "user cp". It's under options I think.

I think I understand that part. What I mean is, what are the technical specs of the actual picture? I remember reading about pixel dimensions and resoltion.

Nuh-uh. I just made something that size and made it a GIF and I'm still getting the too large message.

This avatar thing drives me nuts.

shrinking a pic

I have a gif that right now is about 130x90 pixels. I was wondering if anyone out there knew a way that I could shrink it down to a workable size. I think that the only program I can open it in is paitbrush where shrinking it just means cutting it down, not reducing its proportions. Also, Paintbrush onlyy seems to allow me to save it as a bitmap file after I've edited it there.

Anyone have a suggestion or solution to help me out?

Thanks,
Billy

Hot Chocolate -

On Paintbrush, hit "select all" under the "edit" menu. Then go to the "image" menu and select "stretch/skew." You can change the proportions there.
