Improv Performance Class
This is a ten week class for intermediate and advanced improv students with some long form improv experience. You will learn how to create fun, interesting, two-person scenes; explore different ways to create second beats from those scenes; and try connecting different threads at the end of your piece. We will work on games within scenes, how to build group scenes, and put it all together in a form similar to the Harold.
Best of all, the class includes four performances at the Apollo Studio Theater as part of Hump Night. You will receive notes after every show and each week’s lesson plan will be tweaked based on issues identified in the previous show.
When and Where?
The class will be on Sundays from 3-6pm starting on September 8th. The classes will be held at Bughouse Theater at 2054 W. Irving Park Road. The class shows will be at the Apollo Studio Theater at 2540 North Lincoln, Wednesday nights at 7:30pm.
How do I apply?
Students can apply to be in this class by filling out the application form before midnight on Sunday, August 18th. Students will be chosen from the pool of applicants. If you are accepted for the class, you’ll be notified by Friday, August 23rd and then be given options to pay.
