Improv classes in Wilmington

#1
I was wondering if anyone knows about any improv classes going on in Wilmington. I'm an actor, and I'm so good at improv when I'm not put on the spot, but when I'm put on the spot I totally freeze up. I don't if it's just nerves or worrying about what someone might think, but I'd like to take some improv classes so I can beat the jitters! Thanks, guys!

Check out the folks at The Other Side at www.othersidecomedy.net. They do incredible improv in Wilmington and I know from experience that they're all super people to work with. I have not seen a show from them that wasn't completely amazing and they (at least they have in the recent past) offer workshops. The phone number on their site is 910.233.2359. To see a show, they play at Level Five at City Stage on Tuesday nights, doing a 9 PM and 11 PM show, maybe chat a few cast members up after the show.

Improv classes are offered regularly at Dirty South Improv in Chapel Hill, if you have the time to drive. Check out www.dirtysouthimprov.com for the regular schedule and instructors including Zach Ward, Ross White, Scott Jennings and Corey Brown.

As a former TOS member, I can tell you we (they) do offer workshops on a pretty regular basis. The number on the site is incorrect, though. I'd email Jeremy Griffin at jeremysgriffin at gmail dot com for the lowdown. Or better yet, go to a show. Every Tuesday at Level Five/City Stage downtown at 9pm. Enjoy.
