INSIDE JOKE returns for a new installment with comedian Demetri Martin 'in conversation' at The PIT on Thursday, April 3 at 8PM. Inside Joke is the program that seeks to answer the question 'What makes people laugh?' by inviting masters of the craft -- stand-up comedians to sitcom writers and all points in between -- onstage for a conversation about their work.
Before sitting for a chat with host Carl Arnheiter, Martin will perform his one-man 'If I...,' which in February won him the Aspen Comedy Festival's Jury Award in the One Person Show category. A fixture of the New York alternative comedy circuit, Martin is a stand-out in a stellar stand-up community. His sets are a variable mix of music, foreign language, and Jack Handey-ish observations that lead Time Out NY to call him The Best New Voice in Stand-Up. He has appeared on both Late Night with David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, and was most recently seen opposite Robert DeNiro in Analyze That.
Tickets for the evening are $10, which includes both 'IF I...' and Inside Joke.
