I've just finished a little website for my company and am trying to figure out how to register it so that it stands a chance in hell of being found by major search engines.

The company from which we bought the domain name/space says it registers the site, but it gives no details and doesn't mention specific search engines.

I keep finding scammy sites that say they'll register me with 8 gazillion search engines for only $500, blah dee blah blah blah.

Any suggestions?

(I've already done the good, tidy meta keywords stuff, but really want to register appropriately)
