I got an email about Magnet Camp today. It is Thursday 6/10 through Sunday 6/13. As of right now, I am planning on going. Elizabeth Trepkowski and I went last year and we both had an amazing time.

The instructors are top notch. Armando Diaz himself. Jean Villepique. She is in Switchboard and was the coach for Four Square in Chicago. And David Wallace's wife on The Office. Ed Herbstman who is another Second City alum. And others too. Last year, we had three workshops...one each day on Thursday through Saturday. Then we had two more optional workshops on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
In the evening, we had improv jams and then partying until the late hours. Last year, the quality of the jams were off the hook. You have a few Magnet house team members who will be there, but EVERYONE there was so freakin' funny in the jams. The quality of the partying was off the hook too. And by the way, the food was really good.
It is actually really cheap to get there. It is a three hour drive from Center City. Since you leave early Thursday morning, it will be an extra half hour because driving through Princeton during rush hour sucks. After that, it is an easy drive. I think there was one toll road which was like a dollar each way. If you don't have a car or a ride, you can meet the Magnet people in Manhattan.
And just in case you don't believe it is an awesome time, check out this video. I am very proud to say that I am the last place finisher in this race. And, yes, I'm going to defend my title this year.
