Sorry if this has been answered before but I need help!!

Are there any difference in these two cameras ..the miniDV is priced $400 higher ...And which is better suited to make movies ...and can either be fitted with different lens ..

Which editing software works best with Sony?

And finally what Accessories should I think about?

Sony DCR-VX2000
miniDV Handycam
camcorder it's the higher prioced of the two

Sony Digital Handycam
Camcorder - DCRVX2000

Thanks I appreciate your time!

These are the same camera, Ben. Obviously go for the best price (at an authorized dealer, of course...so you'll get warranty coverage.)

You can get telephoto and wideangle converters (but you cannot change the lens.) Only the Canon XL1s, I think, have interchangable lenses (at this price point.)

If you're on a Mac...iMovie, Final Cut Pro (and Final Cut Express), Avid DVXpress...all should work fine with this camera.

On a PC? Well...I'll let someone else talk about that.

Accessories...get a good tripod, a good carry case (PortaBrace or Kata), a decent external microphone, perhaps...some lights?

P.S. I recently saw some footage from a Canon GL2 camera, which is essentially Canon's rival to Sony's VX2000 (I own a VX2000 by the way), and I have to say I think the GL2 footage looked better than my VX2000 footage. You might want to check out the GL2 before you buy.
