Some people go in there just to plug. There's a lot of that. There are others that are simply having regional discussions.

I've tried to start some people talking about South Florida in there, no luck.

The advantage is that plugs should be separated by regions anyway. Who in New York cares about a South Florida show (such as mine) because it's not like they're going to fly down specifically to see it. Similarly in reverse.

But if you are about to take a trip, you can scan the messages and see what might be available to you, or who is who in the community.

I think people know around here that I am fairly serious about improv and use the boards to discuss the form. I leave my plugs for signature and my brothers' hair line.

New York honestly needs a plugs forum. There are too many of us and we would just pollute the new york forum with trash instead of cooler region specific threads.

I feel mullaney should create a plugs catigory and then 4 forums in that catigory. New York plugs, Chicago plugs, LA plugs, Other Places plugs. It makes it easier and quicker to find a show in the area you are looking for while still leaving room for growth for discussions within its respective regional board once more people do so.

actually, if you think about it, you could just give every region its own catigory, and then put plugs as a sub catigory and find a coach as a sub catigory.

so it would be like

Regional Boards

New York
discussion
plugs
find a coach

Chicago
discussion
plugs
find a coach

L.A.
discussion
plugs
find a coach

Other Places
discussion
plugs
find a coach

EZ, are you trying to never hear from me again?

Actually, I agree with you. And then general discussion categories for improv. Those should not be about the area, but about improv (rules, etc.) and the regional discussions should be about things in the region, I guess.

Second guessing, first in line.

Actually...I was born in Miami, but raised in Orlando (I used to be at SAK), so no it would not be the last time Id hear from you. maybe second to last time. just kidding...

I doubt any of this is gonna happen though. Its not a big enough problem yet to just go changing stuff around. I wish those sak people did visit this site. They could learn some cool stuff.

Since I allow plugs in all the regional forums except the New York one and since 95+% of the plugs in the plugs forum are New York, aren't the plugs already compartmentalized sufficiently? I don't really see the problem with the current set up.

Hey, I do no plugging and I have this board invade (sic).

Besides, I don't see an overwhelming need, but I can't really debate the logic.
