I was hoping to be Captain Cold, can't find an appropriate blue parka online
You might be kidding - but if I were piecing together this outfit and lived anywhere outside of Alaska - I'd get a one piece unitard... or just an ocean blue sweat suit... I'd put on a yellow karate belt and cut up a blanket to look like a shall with little icecicles. Then of course, I'd have to look for appropriate gloves and boots --- then I'd glue fleece around the cuffs of both. The cool blue glasses would be the easiest - I'd just cut them out of cardboard and paint them ocean blue. Lots of work - but I'll bet no one goes as him.

You weren't being serious were you?

The last few years I've hit the thrift stores to accessorize for Halloween.

If I find a blue jacket and the right sunglasses I may go as Bernie Lomax this year. Then go out to the Hamptons and waddle around.
Maybe Ill get a

Try Bratenders. They supply dance wear and foundation pieces for broadway shows, so it's not like flouncy, tear-away, lacy stuff. You might want to call ahead and make an appointment. The first time I went there without an appointment (I genuinely didn't know I needed one) the lady seemed a tiny bit put-off, but I still got great service.

Thanks, everyone. We actually ended finding exactly what she needed. Now, I just have to find:

1. green opaque man tights
2. Robin Hood hat - checking costume stores for that
3. archery-related gear - bow, arrows, quiver, one of those arm guard things

She wants me to be Green Arrow to her Black Canary, and who am I to argue, especially since she is sewing the top part of my costume herself. I think I may also carry around a copy of the New York Times and grumble about how bad black people have it these days (circa 1969).

Rickys carries a good selection of queen size tights (that may fit your "man size" needs.) Try the one on 5th Avenue and 44th, or the one on West 23rd. Actually the costume store (like halloween adventure on 4th and 11th) may have all that stuff but get there now!
