The right front pocket of one of my pairs of khakis has a sort of "sub-pocket" sewn in that's the perfect size for my cellphone. By design? Could be.

I'm loving the subnormal temperatures we've had over the past couple days. After that long, hot, humid summer, it feels great to have a bracing wind at my back (or in my face). The atmosphere feels more kinetic. Things are happening. I'm making things happen.

The TV I bought a couple nights ago should be delivered within 10 business days.

Having spent about three years dithering over whether to replace my current TV, I'm glad to have made the decision. My current one is about 20 years old; it still gets a good picture but on humid days it often doesn't turn on...I have to switch it on and off several times before it'll catch. Also, it's not cable-ready and there's no remote--it's tuned by dials.

This new one is a flat-screen, 20" (a little bigger than my current 19"er), stereo model with direct A/V connection. A definite upgrade. I'm looking forward to getting it. Even though it'll be obsolete in a few years when digital TV takes over, it'll be worth it for a few good years.

For some reason, this TV-buying process is making me feel like a grownup. Even though I've spent more money at one time in the past, something about purchasing a large appliance. I don't know. I'm just excited.

Very free and fun. The last NYC Corpa show, that is. We had a nice, responsive crowd, and the show was fun to play. I love happy endings.

Also, a great, fun thing that happened is that our first coach arrived early to the show and he agreed to warm us up. It felt good and it was like a link to the early days. A callback, if you will.

...And a couple weeks after the official Last CORPA Show, we did our real last show, what I've been calling (inaccurately) our "contractual obligation show," a return engagement at the Hole In The Wall Theater in New Britain, CT.

It was a lot of fun. Not as loose as the last NYC show, unfortunately, but still a good time and often playful...a good way to end. Even the jam, with the fine people of Doctor Awesome, was fun--and I hate improv jams, so that's really saying something.

Cool road trip, too. I finally found something at TGI Fridays that I enjoy, other than a burger. It's the lemon chicken something-or-other. The HITW people are groovy.

Thanks to everyone who supported us in Corpa. I appreciate it. It was neat being on the sort-of ground floor of this big indie longform thing. Also thanks to Juicebox, who were there with us.
