I have a hard-to-shop-for brother in law. One of the few sure things I know I can get him is cheezball golf junk. Where can I get some golf stuff (not balls and clubs, but golfers-do-it-in-amusing-golf-like-ways type stuff)?

My dad is an avid golfer, and he is always thrilled to find Titlest Pro-V golfballs under the tree. He says they're the perfect gift for any golfer because they're very pricey golfballs, not the kind you'd get for yourself. According to the golf pro at Paradigm, the Pro-V's aren't really BETTER than other Titlest balls, but most golfers love them for their prestige.

[non-club, non-ball] Golfing gift ideas...
1. retractable ball retriever
2. golf trival pursuit
3. stuffed animal headcover like Tiger has (make sure it's big enough for a big clubhead)
4. The Legend of Bagger Vance (the book or movie)
5. ball picker-upper that fits on the top of a putter (looks sort of like a mini-plunger)

Hope that helps.

Here are somethings that golfers do NOT use (so, if you haven't already purchased them...DON'T!)
1. golf ball personalizer - looks sort of like a notary stamp
2. X-out golf balls - They're xx'd out for a reason
3. all-in-one gadgets that count strokes, repair ball marks, whistle, and do a bunch of other crap you don't need

SHIT! Seriously?
For real. DIY mongrammer. It's crap.

Try World Of Golf downtown - Bway and Fulton (I think). If I recall, it's not JUST equipment.

Sharper Image, Hammacher-Schlemmer, etc. sometimes have neato golf novelties (not just useless scorekeepers or flask-in-a-club doohickies).

Also, consider a golf magazine subscription. Even if he already subscribes, it will automatically renew for him.

Finally, golf apparel. Pull over v-neck windshirts and collared knit shirts are good.

Restoration Hardware has a few fun golf things.
They had a set of four balls - one explodes, one wabbles the other two do hillarious things also.
They also had a golf ball engraver thingy - so your bro-inlaw can put his initials on his BALLS.

they were fairly cheap too.
