I'm a terrible coach ...
... but for some reason I just keep winding up with students who go on to kick ass, such as STOCKHOLM SYNDROME, who did so Saturday night in an elegant longform way.
Over the last 10 years, I've
taught dozens invited workshops at universities and improv festivals throughout the United States and Europe. I've studied and/or performed on teams at The Second City, ImprovOlympic, and The Annoyance in Chicago, and at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York. See
www.dangoldstein.com/non-academ.html for more detail.
I
studied The Harold in Chicago under the people who taught the founders of the Upright Citizen's Brigade. For New York references talk to: Michael Delaney, Andrew Secunda, Kevin Mullaney, Billy Merritt, Julie Brister, Ali Faranakian, and Armando Diaz.
I have created several
longforms such as SITCOM which has had 13 production runs in the US and Europe (including a UCB production starring Michael Delaney, Andrew Secunda, Jessica St. Clair, and Dannah Feinglass) and COMMEDIA DELL'HIGH SCHOOL, which has seen 5 productions, including last year's sold-out run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (starring John Gemberling, Curtis Gwinn, Tara Copeland, Jessica St. Clair, and Jason Mantzoukas). I'm a published
comedy writer with several pieces in print in publications such as McSweeney's, and Modern Humorist.
From my day job of teaching psychology, I'm well versed in the art of bringing people up to their optimal level of
performance, and showing the secrets of how simple it all really is.
