Gainesville Improv Festival
The 2006 Gainesville Improv Festival (GIF) is now accepting applications for submission. The GIF will be holding its 2nd annual festival Wednesday, October 18, 2006 through Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Gainesville, Florida and will be headlined by Chicago's Bassprov and Pimprov. If accepted your troupe will receive one 25 minute performance slot, official GIF t-shirts, two 2 hr standard workshops (per registered troupe member), and invitations to all the hot after parties. A submission fee will be required, see details below. Master workshops by Bassprov's Mark Sutton and Joe Bill may be purchased at an additional cost. A $30 per person registration fee will be required (upon acceptance). Submission deadline will be August 5, 2006.

Who are we looking for?
GIF is primarily looking for submissions from improvisation and sketch troupes from across the United States. All facets of improvisation including short form, long form, solo, duo, and ensemble based troupes will be considered. Other forms of live entertainment are encouraged to submit and will also be considered. Preference may be given to college groups and early submission.<br></span>
Submission Details
The following is the minimum required of all submissions to GIF 2006:
- Video: A 30 minute unedited VHS or DVD video, in front of an audience, depicting the type of show you would expect to perform at GIF.
- A press kit, with the following information:
- Troupe history
- Cast biographies
- Group photo
- Press clippings
- Completed GIF submission form:2006 Submission Form
- Submission Fee:
- Early submission fee: $30 US by July 8th, 2006
- Regular submission fee: $45 US by August 5th, 2006
All fees are non-refundable, however if your troupe is selected the submission fee will go towards paying registration for one of your members. Please make all checks or money orders out to Tom O'Donnell.

Deadline for Submission
All submissions must be postmarked by Friday, August 5, 2006. Upon receipt of submission material we will notify troupe contacts via email with confirmation. Submissions received with post marked dates later then deadline will not be reviewed.
