Hey Philadelphians (and visiting readers),

NOW is the time to sign up for "A Short Intro to Longform" and other classes at the Philly Improv Theater (PHIT)! We will have to decide by the end of the day if our first class, starting this Sunday, is actually going to run - and we'd like another student. If you've got improv experience and feel you could skip our Level 1 class, you should sign up for our elective starting this Sunday.

Visit http://www.phillyimprovtheater.com for all the details.

Hey everyone,

This probably won't apply to people who are reading (but it might)... PHIT's first-ever Level 1 class is supposed to start on Monday night. I need many, many more students. So if you've got a friend that you've been begging to learn about improv... or a significant other who need to make fall in love with improv too... or you want to buy that unfunny co-worker a gift that will teach just how not funny he is. The time to act is IMMEDIATELY. Get on over to the site and sign up:

I took Matt Holmes' workshop on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. Somehow he was able to make it simple enough for beginnners to grasp the concepts and move forward quickly, but also challenging enough for more experienced improvisers so they didn't get bored.

It was four hours long, so he was able to do some great things with people that were really new to the concept of improv. We even ended up doing a guided Harold by the end. I think that speaks volumes about Matt and what he can do with people. Most everyone caught on easily, and made some nice strides that you were able to witness in one afternoon. That was sweet.

What I think was the coolest thing was that aside from three people, I didn't know anyone else in the class. I think it's great that Greg & Matt were able to get a great response from a lot of people that aren't already heavily in the scene. It made me really excited about the PHIT program and what it can accomplish.
