. Listed below you will find several organizations who are offering scholarships to the Funny Women Fest either locally in Chicago or nationally across the U.S and Canada. You’ll find out how to apply for each scholarship and the criteria for application as well as the contact information for each organization.
We’re very proud to have these organizations participate in the FWF Scholarship program. They have enthusiastically endorsed the Funny Women Fest and the concept behind it. These organizations truly believe in funny women and we hope that you’ll take advantage of this program. We also hope that, as the Funny Women Fest grows, so will the participation of more organizations around the country in the FWF Scholarship Program.

NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Chicago Comedy Company
Award: Women in business are encouraged to apply to this scholarship. The award includes the FWF tuition of $150. (All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the applicant.)
Criteria: Contact Andy Eninger or Steve Matuzsak for guidelines.
Open to: All women in business.

Mission IMPROVable
Award: Scholarship will be awarded to a female who is currently enrolled in a college program. Basic improv or theater knowledge is required.
Criteria: Recipient MUST attend the Liz Allen workshop. -A three hundred word summary of their expierences at the festival to be published on the MI page.
Application: Include an acting resume and photo (formal headshot encouraged but not necessary) Maximum one-page articulation of your commitment to the art form, reflecting your future goals and how you hope attending Funny Women Fest will advance those goals

MUSICAL! The Musical!
Award: Award is offered to one award to a woman interested in the musical aspect of theater. The applicant will be required to choose one musical class during the FWF. Award includes $150 FWF Tuition. (All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the applicant)
Criteria: The applicant will be required to choose one musical class during the FWF.
Open to: All women interested in musical theatre and music.

Second City Communications (A subsidiary of Second City)
Award: Second City Communications is offering two scholarships to:
1. A Second City or Former Second City student from all branches around the country.
2. A college student or a woman who demonstrates financial need.
Award includes $150 to each individual demonstrating financial need. (All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the applicant.)
Criteria: Applicant will be required to take pictures and keep an account of their experience at the Funny Women Fest to be turned in after the conclusion of the FWF.

CHICAGO AREA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Chicago Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA)
Award: One Award to a student currently enrolled in the CCPA Training Center. The award is $150 which covers the cost of tuition. (All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the applicant.)
Criteria: Student must be currently enrolled in the CCPA training program.

The Players Workshop
Award: Players Workshop is offering one award for a female student currently in the Players Workshop program.
The award is $150 which covers the cost of tuition. (All other costs incurred are the responsibility of the applicant.)
Criteria: Must be current student of Players Workshop.

The Playground Improv Theatre
The scholarship is open to women who have completed or are enrolled in basic improv preparation at a bona fide training program, such as those at Second City (Levels 1-5, or A-E), ImprovOlympic, The Annoyance, Player's Workshop, Columbia College or equivalent.
Preference will be given to actors not currently involved in The Playground.
Application
Include an acting resume and photo (formal headshot encouraged but not necessary)
Maximum one-page articulation of your commitment to the artform, reflecting your future goals and how you hope attending Funny Women Fest will advance those goals
The Award includes:
$150 tuition coverage for Funny Women Fest 2001
The opportunity to take two, 3-hour Playground Master's Workshops of your choice for free (where space is available). The recipient must meet basic criteria for these advanced, small-group classes (see
www.the-playground.com for upcoming class listings and instructors).
Six complimentary admissions to Playground shows, which can be used at The Swing Set (Friday / Saturday at 8:00) or The Slide Show (Thursday at 8:00).
Waived registration fee if you audition and are cast on a Playground Incubator team (upcoming auditions are June 2 and August 4).
Preferential consideration for a guest ensemble performance slot during a regular Playground show (assuming you already perform with an active improv ensemble)
