full length (semi-scripted) Musical Improv Auditions

#1
Casting Notice for a STAGED READING of the scripted-improv musical Thanks(butnothanks)giving, a new work by Evan Bass Zeisel. Reading taking place likely in July at the 13th Street Rep Co.

The full-length show, described as August Osage County meets Mr. Show, in the stylings of Neil Simon, plays out like a play but breaks into planned improvised songs when the emotions get too high for simple words to express.

We are auditioning for the following roles (open to all ethnicities, and flexible on age range, if necessary):

HERBERT BURNS (Herb, Herby, Norbert) – late-40’s, father of the house.

JOANNE BURNS, wife of Herbert – late-40’s, mother of the house.

DOMINIQUE BURNS (Dom), 20 Y.O. daughter of Herbert and Joanne.

NICOLE BURNS (Nikki), 18 Y.O daughter of Herbert and Joanne, very smart, she thinks in A-to-C pop-culture reference jumps.

KENNETH BURNS (Kenny), 15 Y.O. son of Herbert and Joanne.

ZACH RICHARDS, early-20’s, the boyfriend. -already CAST-

FRANCINE BURNS (42 but dresses 20 years younger), wife of Henry.

HENRY BURNS (late-30s/early-40s), younger brother of Herbert.

SASHA BURNS (has Spoonerism speech disorder), 17 Y.O. daughter of Francine and Henry.

ROBERT BURNS (late-40s), older brother of Herbert, with somewhat contained flamboyant movements.

Please submit headshot and resume, the name of the character you are submitting for, and any information on any upcoming musical improv performances to evan@ElectronicBass.com.

Auditions will include sides from the script and a musically improvised spot song.

Please do NOT submit if you do not have musical improv experience. Thank you.
