I went to see this tonight and not only did I get a great play, not only did I get a very fun production, but I also got some spectacular scenery. And it only cost free! I think there are three shows left; consider going.

And the woman who plays Helena is fantastic. She's particularly beloved by the young....

Even if the actors didn't range from good to excellent, even if our own Erika wasn't a natural-born hilarious Helena, even if her Demetrius wasn't played by an extremely funny and charismatic guy who kinda looks like a skinnier version of The Rock, even if the show wasn't nicely directed and intelligently trimmed, even if the picnic dinner we packed hadn't been delicious, even if the audience wasn't receptive and jammed with adorable children and dogs, we would still have been watching "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on a beautiful, warm midsummer night under a canopy of stars surrounded by beautiful forest and peaceful river.

Head up to Inwood on Saturday and check this out. It's worth it.

Ain't that the truth!

Also, if you bring an air horn, do not use it during the show.

I didn't bring a pic-a-nic dinner like Dan, but it does not matter. Go...and eat later.

Do you have a dog? Bring your dog to the show!

Based on our experiments tonight, dogs like Shakespeare! Or at least Dora liked the following aspects of Shakespeare:

1) Parts where actors run down the center aisle, shouting or singing

2) Parts where actors make eye contact with Dora, adapting a scripted joke to her presence

3) Parts where people play drums

4) Parts where I feed her grapes from the picnic basket

5) The part at the end, when everyone claps
