FCP 4 tip:
if you're shooting on a panasonic in 24p advanced mode, and want to end up in NTSC 29.97:
* capture footage using the 2:3 pulldown (there should be a setting for 24p advanced mode) and edit the project as 23.98 fps
* edit
* make a quicktime using the DV 23.98 setting, not the normal DV setting.
* you can burn a DVD in a program like iDVD -- the program will take your 23.98 .mov file and convert it quite nicely into ntsc mpeg-2.
now, printing to tape directly from FCP with a 23.98 project is a bit tricky. It should work, but do a test run of the full process before you start editing, so you're not up a creek...
