THE WAY OF IMPROV
with Rich Talarico

A Zen approach to Improv.

The the basketball player, the jazz musician, and the theatrical improviser all must simply go with the flow of what is happening... And, ultimately all performers must bend for the common good. Learn to go with the flow. It's tools not rules in this workshop. Each improv situation is different...and a rule that works in one situation --does not work in another. Cut the rules loose and learn to go with the flow. Team work is everything here. As the Hopi saying goes: "One finger can't lift a pebble."

This ongoing class is open to intermediate and experienced improvisers. We'll focus on the nuts and bolts of scene work.
Learn how to make 'small flexible moves.' Discover the power of 'killing plot.' And, get individual feedback that will help you realize that everything that happens in improv is either an obstacle or an opportunity. The choice is yours.

Rich Talarico is a 16-year improv veteran--
having studied with Stephen Colbert, Charna Halpern & Del Close. Rich was a writer for Mad TV and Saturday Night Live. He trained and performed at Second City Chicago and IO Chicago. He's led improv workshops in Boston, Austin, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles and NYC. Currently, Rich performs every Thursday at IO West with "Dasariski."

"Rich Talarico is one of the all time
great Caucasian improvisers."
