I want to coach your group/direct your show. Anyone that has worked under my direction can attest, I have a great eye for what a good scene should be. Also, I'm in SHIT-STORM. I want to see you "go there." Hopefully, I can take you.

email me for availablility. erockappel at hotmail dot com.

Here is a picture of me giving the middle finger to Pat Baer after getting knocked out of the poker tournament on Wednesday night...

I guess I should list this shit...

I'm in SHIT-STORM, Loose Cannons and The Real Real World. I host Liquid Courage. I was nominated for Best Writer (and won best tech) at the ECNY's. I wrote a show about competitive Real Estate brokers set to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon." I've been teching Respecto for over a year. I DJ for Mother: The Soundtrack. I do all the sound editing for Culture Vultures. I've been in the improv shows Anydayville and The After-School Super Power Hour. I've directed Mr.A$$, Cracked Out, Andy Milonakis is not funny: The Musical (and now Andy Milonakis is famous!), Gelmania (with Brett Gelman), The Wicked Wicked Hammerkatz, and Matt Walsh had me direct the advanced sketch class he taught. I'm Berrebbi Approved, and on a few seperate occasions, Jake Fogelnest has called me "the future."

I also have a thundercats tattoo.

p.s. I notice that someone has already given me a low star rating. This is mos def someone that is very jealous of how awesome I am and has probably never worked with me before.

I can't talk about the future (I'll leave it for prophets and privy jakes), but I'll happily state with conviction that Eric Appel has a lock on the present. He gets what you're doing, he knows where it's coming from, and he'll tell you what it should be. The man is zeitgeist incarnate, a participatory observer, a shining example of post-post-modern man with all the trimmings.

Eric Appel knows how to do it. He's got an eye for every scene, and always knows where to take it. I've seen him improvise, tech, and direct, and he always makes it better.

Appel can coach, direct, perform, eat, smoke, pick up chicks, coach, drink, coach, SHITSTORM, coach and coach. Take him on as a coach, before destiny does.

There a quite a few positives when going with Appel. Ill just name a few of the big ones since i could write an essay on the subject. First off, the man commits 109% to his work, which means theoreticly, to your show/group if you hire him. There are a lot of great coaches/directors out there, but if they dont have any commitment or free time, its a big fucking headache for your show no matter how good they are.

Second, Appel knows the ins and outs of the tech booth. You dont want a director who has no idea of how the booth works. Sure it feels safe to get someone obscure who you know or trust artisticly, but its ultimately a much bigger headache when the director you think is a perfect match for your show cant figure out why you have no sound or how to re-adjust the lights. Think about how much time that wastes or how important having the correct lights on stage is. With Appel, you already have a guy who has a good artistic sensability, and will take care of all your tech problems for you so you dont have to worry about them. Its the best mix of the 2.

If it can be done, Appel is the guy who will do it.

yes and...

Learn how to heighten to un-imaginable mediocrity with Shitstorm's Eric Appel. Not only will he teach you how to tech, direct, write but he will go that extra mile and show you the secrets to picking that oh-so-perfect wristband to match your belt.

Wait don't bother with this dude, just ask Jon Daly. He's a better coach.

When it comes to Eric Appel, Henry Lee said it best: "...first in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen."

(A handful of renegade historians will argue that Lee was actually talking about George Washington, but they'll be the ones with egg on their faces when they realize Washington never directed a sketch show about a foul-mouthed crack-addicted white rap duo.)
