Hm, I don't remember that part. Although I don't see how that would stop him from just killing them both if he wanted to.

I just listened to the Morrissey song "Driving Your Girlfriend Home" and it reminded me of this thread... I think that song and "No Country for Old Men" end in very much the same such is lifekind of way.

I love the endings of both.

the reason people gget pissed is they think the film is an action film about some killer as the protagonist, and its not. the film is a piece showing the effects of a natural disaster (the killer in this case) on various people's lives and how all these unique characters react to it. There is no 'ending' because the killer is like a force of nature who simply leaves at one point.
