Art of Patience with Charlie Whitcroft
The funniest parts of scenes are most commonly the behavior-inspired, relationship-based moments that arise naturally from listening patiently and responding appropriately. In this workshop we'll aim for those moments with some fun and relevant excercises, and by practicing longer, slower scenework - scenes with room to breathe. The emphasis will be on creating clear relationships, exploring them and making discoveries naturally. Trust, and the funny will come. Four weeks of class followed by two performances. Prerequisite: Level One or equivalent experience. Limit 14 students.
Instructor: Charlie Whitcroft
Day: Saturdays, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Improv for the Evolving Species with Alex Marino
It’s taken about 2 billion years, but we’ve finally got a decent brain. Let’s play with it! This four-week class will look at the way our brains, bodies and social behavior have evolved over hundreds of millions of years of basic survival in a wild, chaotic environment, all for the sake of doing stronger scene work in the wild, chaotic environment of a stage full of improvisers. We will work on strengthening your powers of observation, playing intuitively from your full range of experiences, and examining why the human species is hard wired to laugh at improv even (and often) when no one is saying or doing anything all that funny. We might even talk about monkey sex. Prerequisite: Level 2 or equivalent experience. Limit 14 students.

Storytelling with Adam Wade
Learn how to take personal experiences from your life and create stories that are universal and identifiable for an audience - you’ll be surprised at how engaging your personal stories can be!
