Ed Herbstman grew up in Chicago, where he learned to improvise from Del Close. He studied at Northwestern University, where he directed "The Mee-Ow Show." He then became a member of the Second City National Touring Company and began teaching and coaching at The ImprovOlympic Theater. Ed performed in countless shows at I/O and after performing The Movie at the Aspen Comedy festival with his group Bitter Noah, he and the group moved to Los Angeles. In LA, Ed helped open the ImprovOlympic West, teaching and performing in still countless more improv and sketch shows. With Bitter Noah, Ed co-created the MTV series "The Blame Game." He then followed his girlfriend to New York where he directed the pilot for the TV version of the improvised show, "Lifegame." Ed married his girlfriend, had a baby and is now very happy to be teaching at THE PIT with his old friends Armando and Ali.
